From Stein am Rhein to Wangen
Today was an almost perfect day. The sky was a bit gray at the start, but the sun came out more and more during the day. It wasn't excessively hot, very pleasant for riding....

It could have been a very nice tour through the Allgäu, but unfortunately the weather was as bad as announced. Gray skies, hanging clouds, and rain throughout the day. Initially temperatures around 13 degrees. Since you can't do anything else in this weather except drive, we drove almost continuously for the first 60 km. We wouldn't have had anywhere to take a break anyway. We came across the Illertal cycle path near Immenstadt, where we had already been 5 years ago - also in the rain. We only took a break in Sonthofen, 10 km before our destination. That's when the sun actually came out, so we treated ourselves to the first ice cream of the tour. The remaining 10 km showed us how beautiful the Allgäu can be in the sunshine. Now we have arrived in Rettenberg, where washing and drying are the first things on the agenda. Why Rettenberg? Quite simply because it was the only accommodation we could find after about 70 km of cycling. The question of accommodation will also remain exciting in the next few days, but so far we have always found something.
