Dream Tour Days Lake Garda Day 6

To escape the hustle and bustle of Desenzano, we took the train to Peschiera del Garda - and that was a good choice because a crowd of people poured out of the train at the station, all eager to join the festival - a completely full train moved through the station. We did everything right; it was time to get out of there.🤣👍

Peschiera del Garda is a charming little town, beautifully laid out with a city gate and a long lakeside promenade where you can watch the boats from small cafes and restaurants. The town itself has a lot to offer, everything appeared very clean and tidy, but we unanimously agreed that living in Desenzano is better. Somehow, despite the tourism, it feels a bit more 'Italian', more authentic, quieter, and cozier than in the other places by the lake. We enjoyed getting to know the other places only to return to our neighborhood and feel at home there.

On the way back, we took the bus to Desenzano, but due to the closed city, it only brought us to the train station, and then we had to walk to the Piazza. Not much was happening that afternoon; Frauke put her feet up, and I took one more walk down the 'hill' to the quieter side of the town, comfortably sat in a café with an Aperol and snack, and enjoyed the view of the deep blue lake, the equally blue sky, and the white sailboats that seemed to be dotted across the blue.

The day ended in 'our bar' with a huge tuna salad, delicious bread, and the obligatory ice cream on the Piazza.

Insight of the day: sometimes too much is just too much, and less can be more!
