Nené, no Vespa, I preferred to stick with the Panda just to be safe 😉. Rented a car without any issues, 140 euros for two days with premium insurance, and off we went. Today it was the turn of one half of the green island. The drive was wonderful — the whole day was filled with views of an indescribably blue sea, an incredibly blue sky, and occasionally an emerald green bay with small white boats. I could have stood there for hours just watching. 

My brave little car climbed up into the mountains to Monte Capanne above Marciana Marina, offering views over the entire bay, and then we continued along the coast, stopping to admire the scenery, drink coffee, and eat canapés in Marina di Campo, etc. Drunk from the beauty of the island, I treated myself to an Aperol in the afternoon, a Schiacchiane — a very thin warm bread with ham, mozzarella, and arugula of your choice — and of course my ice cream 😉. 

Later in the evening, there was a wonderful sunset. Elba has something special!
