The sun is shining, so let’s go.

After a leisurely breakfast, we took the bus to Marina di Campo, traveling across the island to the south. However, since the island is very narrow at this point, the journey only took 20 minutes. 😂 Upon arrival, I found myself in a very lively and crowded little town as there is a marathon happening on the island this weekend, and part of it goes through Marina di Campo. So there was a lot going on, music, markets, many people—very exciting. I then strolled towards the old harbor with the small dinghies and fishing boats, where it was nice and quiet, the beach at my feet, and I could finally climb some steps again—it's been a while—but the views from high up are often the most beautiful.

The beach is quite special for Elba, being 1.3 km long, very wide, and covered in fine golden sand. It's natural, not man-made. It is truly a lovely place, and anyone coming to Elba for swimming will find it just right here.

Back in Procchio, I discovered a sign on the way to the beach with a quote that I hadn’t noticed before. The words resonate with me, especially in today’s times. If only the alpha males of the world would heed them! 😔
