Travel day and arrival in San Francisco

Since we didn't have such a long drive to San Francisco today, we took everything very easy and left the trailer promptly at 11:00.

The weather today was rather poor, but at least better than what we expected. I'll get to that later.

The drive was quite relaxed, even though there was quite a lot of traffic today, being Sunday. We arrived in San Francisco in the early afternoon and drove straight to the Golden Gate Bridge…we couldn't check into our apartment yet anyway.

The bridge is truly impressive, and it's quite a thrill to see it live, after having seen it countless times on TV.

It was extremely windy and really unpleasant, but we were in great spirits. This wasn't just because of the sight, but also because of the huge crowd, among whom we were particularly taken with the "influencers." The poses and faces they pulled, thinking they looked sexy or risqué... priceless 😎 We were practically rolling on the floor laughing and didn't hide it. It didn't go down too well, somehow... but nobody said anything 🤷‍♂️😇

Since we were feeling a bit hungry, we quickly went to a tiny, absolutely adorable bistro nearby, run by young locals. The food and the atmosphere were great.

Afterwards, we sped off to our apartment. Check-in and everything went smoothly, and as you can see from the pictures, it wasn't huge, but it had everything you needed and was actually quite nice. A particular plus: the heating worked really well… Outside it was only 14°C by then.

So it's not a cliché that you hear again and again here: my summer in San Francisco was the coldest winter I've ever experienced 😂
