Two days are not enough for this city by the water. Architecturally rewarding, great food, always a gentle breeze from the sea. Everything can be done with public transport. Here, one would want to book a Chinese course, if it weren't for the traditional Chinese characters used in Taiwan, instead of the simplified ones on the mainland. Way too many strokes!

One day for history, one for art. Ideally. So, Kaohsiung Museum of History and Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts. The former in a building from the Japanese colonial era, the latter in one from the fascist Chiang Kai-shek period. In both, four thematic departments: periods of city history - railway construction - port construction - water construction or architecture - painting - video art & installations - sculpture. So, no encyclopedic claim, no four to six hours of sightseeing. This leaves time to wander before parks, neighborhoods, even to eat. Details later, also about everyday life, signs in public space for example.

Now, I need to go to the shadow puppet museum and the Farewell, 886 Cultural Park of Taiwan Military Veteran Village. Half a day remains here.
