The flight route to Taiwan

The plan is this: On May 2 (2026) from Vienna (VIE) via Beijing (PEK) - see cover photo - continuing to Taipei (TPE) and returning on the same route on May 16/17. On the globe at 48 degrees north latitude and 16 degrees east longitude, initially slightly east-southeast to 40 degrees N / 116 degrees E, and then sharply southeast to 25 degrees N / 121 degrees E, over eight time zones, with Air China, which, although communist, also flies to Taiwan. It will be a night flight over the taiga and the Gobi Desert; at sunset, ruZZia darkens, and in the morning sun, one might get a glimpse of Inner Mongolia. I will be seated on the left side (58A) on the way to Beijing, far back where no wings or engines obstruct the view. And from there, it continues on the left side (62 A) to Taiwan.
