Hi guys!
When we woke up this morning, the weather was exactly as you would expect from England: gray, wet, and cold.
We lazed around for a bit and took some time before deciding to move on. Honestly, we even thought about taking a flight and escaping to the heat for a few days. Madeira was high on the list and really cheap from London!
But: We wanted it exactly as it is now - exploring Europe with the camper. Rainy England is part of it and the scenery here is incredible!
So we set off, further to the north! Every drive is a real adventure! The roads are incredibly narrow, but the drivers are really accommodating! In every tight spot, they give way, let us pass, and even with a smile on their faces! Overtaking is done on the right on the highway and the trucks drive on the left :).
Our destination was a beach where seals are supposed to be. When we arrived, we walked along the beach for about 45 minutes in search of the animals - unsuccessfully... But: it stopped raining! On the way back, we met a local with his two dogs. He greeted us with "Howdy" and complained about the windy weather. We took this opportunity: "Do you happen to know where the seals are?" He replied that they are usually here, sometimes up to a hundred in one section of the beach! Seeing our disappointed faces, he explained that there is another section of the beach where we could try. Of course, we did that! After a 15-minute drive, we arrived there. We also walked along the beach there and suddenly we saw a head popping out of the water! Another one a little further away! The sea must be teeming with seals here! We watched the animals for a while - and they watched us. Around 8 PM, we returned to the camper. Because the parking lot should close at this time, and if someone were to show up, we wanted to be there to explain ourselves. Besides, we were sooooo hungry! Kevin is making his amazing burgers while I dedicate my time to this blog :).
After dinner, we will probably go down to the beach again and hope to see seals again :).
You know, it's cold here right now, but because it's not the season, there are also no people. So there are fewer checks, and you feel really free :). For example, during the season, we could never stop here.... And the view is gigantic! Despite the cold temperatures.
Tomorrow we will definitely go hunting for seals again with the camera, the rest is still open :).
See you soon, my dears!
Oh yeah, we have lousy reception here again :)
The pictures will follow and the blog entries will be made up if there's not enough time ;)
