Mangrove Swamp

Another wet morning and we started with Lawa's Muay Thai training. She got a lot of training time today and learned a bit more technique.

When we were done, the rain had finally stopped and you could feel the change in the air. It's starting to get a bit sticky warm again, so now we are on our way.

It's so fun to talk to Swedes as the weather always becomes the focus. Several express that it has been too cold to swim in the pool, for example, even though the water is 26 degrees. But one quickly gets used to the heat, and we have actually been pretty cold at times, no matter how crazy that sounds.

We went to Livingroom to have breakfast and pick up our pre-ordered saffransbullar (saffron buns). Then we rolled over to the other side of the island to visit the mangrove swamp. We chose not to take the boat since we found it a bit boring last time; we just took a walk around the area. We saw some fish (including some pufferfish) and quite a few crabs. However, there was no giant crab or monitor lizard which we had hoped to see.

We also took a detour out on the point between Sala Dan and Klong Dao beach to show Lawa. However, she was half asleep in the back seat the whole way 🤣

In the afternoon, I took a walk on Klong Dao and enjoyed that people had finally found their way out again after all the rain.

I then met up with Lawa and Mulle at the end of the beach, and we rounded the point to explore Long Beach. A lot that we didn’t recognize, quite a bit has changed since last time. We walked a bit and then sat down for a beer and some dinner.

Kira called Lawa and they had a nice chat; no matter how much she enjoys being here, she misses her friends back home.

Afterwards, we walked a bit further down the beach to then cut across Lynn's up to the road and a taxi home.

Then it was pool time and bathing for the whole family in preparation for the coming week.
