Monday again

School day today and we dropped off Lawa at school and then stayed for the assembly to listen and hang out with a few parents.

We each took a walk since we had different preferences.

I walked along the beach to the north, and the tide was extremely low, so I almost got to the point. But the last bit is a bit marshy, and I thought there might be creatures that I wouldn't want to encounter.

Then I made my way back towards town on a small, remote but paved road and got to see some other parts of the island. Many ghost hotels as well.

When I turned back home, I ran into Mulle who was going the other way 😀

Came home and crawled into the pool, and then joined by Mulle who had basically taken the same route but in the opposite direction. It ended up being around 5 km at least.

After school, Nellie and her mom followed us home. While the girls were swimming, we sat and chatted about everything possible. Nellie's dad is Thai, and they regularly go to Koh Lanta, but it's the first time she is going to school here.

We discussed how rigid the Swedish school system is since we still have compulsory education, compared to more educational systems in many other countries.

How can one view negatively that children go to school abroad, like in Koh Lanta, for example? You might have 7-8 in the class; it's calm and peaceful, and essentially all the kids are ahead when they come back home. Instead of 25-26 rowdy kids who disrupt each other. Most teachers probably don't complain about having one less student for a period 😀

But it's that Jante thing again, if I can’t do it, then no one else should either!

But as I’ve said before, anyone can do it, but it requires quite a bit of planning and sacrifices to succeed.

We have met many different families with various circumstances who are all here fulfilling dreams. Not everyone here was born with a silver spoon in their mouth, and it may have taken 10 years to put everything together. But they did it! ❤️

And no one leaves here regretting it, trust me!

Mulle worked today, and when the others had lunch in Sweden, we took the opportunity to have dinner together. Tried a new restaurant on the street, of the simpler kind. All three of us ate until we were full for 150 SEK, including beer and shake.

Spent the evening on some skincare with a face mask and foot care.

The lights in the pool came loose during the day, so now we dare not jump in until they have fixed them, so no evening swim.
