Early morning to see the sunrise, so beautiful.

We waited for breakfast and then set off to go snorkeling. Unfortunately, it was high tide and the water wasn't as clear.

Then came Phuket!

Boats were pouring in, and without mentioning nationality, they probably weren't the most humble people on earth.

We left that place.

We went back to the hotel, located in the northern part of the island, to find some peace and quiet; thankfully, they don’t come there.

It involved both kayaking and painting boards that we left as a memory.

Lawa also swam in the pool and became popular with two Thai kids, and they had a great time. They spoke very good English, making things a bit easier.

We had a quick lunch at the place we hung out at 10 years ago, but it was the saddest Pad Thai I've ever eaten. It was like one big noodle mush with a few sad pieces of chicken in it.

On the boat, you can never stop being amazed by people. There was a middle-aged couple in the last two rows of the boat, each taking up three seats. Lawa managed to squeeze down on one side, and I on the other. Mulle couldn’t find a spot further up, so I asked them to remove their handbag from the seat so I could jump in and make room for Mulle too. She just didn’t want to. I lifted it up and placed it on her lap and sat down. We still had her suitcase at our feet, so we were a bit cramped, but thought it wouldn’t be a long trip. Moreover, she wasn't sitting straight in her seat but insisted on sitting diagonally with her legs towards me. I put my sweaty leg against her leg, and then she shifted a bit, then I placed it against her again, and that's how we went on. In the end, I also managed to fit in my seat.🤣

Once we arrived at Koh Ngai, it turned out they couldn’t take us all the way to the hotel, so we had to hop on a long-tail boat. Lawa was so happy because she wanted to ride one. She became popular with the driver, who took a picture of her with a travel sticker on her forehead.

We arrived at the hotel and checked in, definitely a different type of accommodation. This was a bungalow, but the shower and toilet were still outside the room. However, I did a quick check for snakes before I could sit down to pee.

Outside, the crickets make deafening sounds; I hope they aren’t nocturnal.

We also saw a large monitor lizard in the stream that flows between the houses. And of course, there are lots of mosquitoes due to the wetlands. And something was dripping some sort of sap from the tree outside us.

We walked down to the sea, and now it was really low tide, but eventually we found a reef and swam straight into a school of colorful fish.

I found a cool green fish that was very curious about us and snorkeled around us. Then another fish swam straight into my mask, immediately reminding me of Dory from Finding Nemo.

Lawa and I took a nice shower and did some hair care to detangle all the knots.

We ate at the hotel, had pizza, and drank cola — so incredibly Swedish, but we were so tired of Thai food right now. And even tired of Chang!

When we returned home after dinner, we sat outside for a little while and were completely attacked by some sort of creepy insects. They flew towards the light and towards us, so we jumped inside. I don't know if it was the crickets making such a loud noise or some other type of beetle, but they were 5 cm long and disgusting.

We are simply not made for the wilderness; we are city dwellers to the tips of our fingers. Never again budget accommodation (which wasn’t so cheap either); now we all long to return to civilization in Koh Lanta!

We crawled into our cocoon in the form of a canopy bed (extra wide bed👍) and waited for the morning while dozing off in fear!

Did I forget to mention that the bed was hard too???🤣😜
