Birthday

Oh dear, you saved me from Thai beds! Soft and comfortable. Love it! I was expecting three months of back pain, so this was a surprise!

However, the mosque's call to prayer at 5 this morning triggered a chorus of howling dogs in the neighborhood. Please, let this not happen every morning!

We woke up early to surprise Lawa on her birthday. Lawa was so sweet yesterday and said that mom, it doesn't matter if I don't get a cake but maybe a pastry we can sort out during the day. So she was happily surprised by the beautiful cake. And the presents that we brought down with us.

After a little morning bath and playtime with the new bath toys, we took a walk to the mini-golf course owned by our lovely friend Rebecca, and we brought some golf balls from Sweden.

On the way back, we stopped by the plastic store to pick up some small items for the house. We also got a board for Lawa to play with in the water.

Mulle has bought a mosquito racket and started a war against all the mosquitoes; oh my, it crackles when he goes to town.

We also had a dream breakfast with all sorts of delicious fruits. A yummy passion fruit which turned out to be from the bush that adorned the wall of the neighboring house. It doesn’t get fresher than that!

Then we made sure to pay our deposit, but also asked for a pool cleaning because the water was far too murky. Instead, we went to the shared pool and took a walk down to the beach.

Pretty high waves, so we did some 'surfing' and jumped in the big waves.

We made a round to Lanta Mart to shop for some food, and Lawa had her first tuk-tuk ride, one with Hello Kitty. So happy!

We were introduced to Bo, the dog from the neighboring house. He is always hanging out by our door. So now it feels good that we know each other.

A change of clothes and then off to the birthday dinner that Lawa got to choose the restaurant for. We did, however, suggest Cozy, which is one of our old favorites too. Then the Taco buffet popped up elsewhere, but she thought it was wrong to have Mexican food when in Thailand. 😀 She had a Massaman and a Golden Bag which is supposed to bring happiness and success in life. Birthday wishes poured in from all sides, and Lawa was super happy with the day.

Then the lights were dimmed, and the whole restaurant including the staff sang Happy Birthday, and in came a fantastic Pavlova.

We ended the evening on the terrace with cuddles, and soon a new day with new adventures awaits!
