Today was a hiking day. First, we walked from the town to the Venus Baths. This is a kind of gorge that has been a route for the First People and the early settlers.
Then we drove to a viewpoint, Reeds Lookout, from which there is a great view over the entire area. That's why there is also a fire lookout tower there.
Next, we headed to two waterfalls, MacKenzie Falls and Broken Falls, which were accessible via a few hundred stairs. They are pretty, but since the rivers have unusually low water flow, they aren't particularly impressive.
After that, we somehow got lost. We drove to the Wonderlands and about 100 meters from the parking lot, we found ourselves in the Grand Canyon. It looks a bit different than how we know it. However, it is a beautiful area, and after a few kilometers, you come to a rock outcrop that is unfortunately completely fenced off with a railing today.
Even during the hikes, we encountered quite trusting animals. The kangaroos were not disturbed, an emu was hoping for some food, and the birds seemed hardly afraid.
