As always, we arrived on time and took a nice Uber ride to Sydney Airport. The driver was an Indian who has been living in Australia for 9 years and is enthusiastic about the country and its people.
In Sydney, we were able to use the Business Lounge, which is nicely furnished and has everything you need. The flight with Thai from Sydney to Bangkok took about 9 hours and was quite pleasant. It was an A350, which is a comfortable size and is also quite quiet. The runway in Sydney even passes over a well-frequented beach (almost like in St. Maarten). The flight across Australia displayed scenery that resembled what we saw on our flight to Uluru. The airplane was significantly cleaner than what you usually encounter. Two hot main meals were served during the flight, which were excellent.
The lounge in Bangkok is not great. It is quite crowded, in other words, too small, messy, and not clean. The seating does not have power or USB ports. Not so nice.
We will be able to check in shortly after midnight (local time), so tomorrow we will board a Boeing 777 for our flight to Zurich.
