Drive from Eden to Kiama

The second to last day with our car is behind us. Tomorrow, we only have the drive to Sydney left, after which we will return the car, stay for four nights, and become pedestrians again.

Today, the weather was quite pleasant, no rain, comfortable temperatures, just a few clouds covering the sky now and then. The drive itself was uneventful, no trees on the road, no landslides, and neither fog nor heavy rain.

We made our first stop in Tilba. This place is entirely protected by the National Trust. Many of the houses are very old, around 125 years old ;). Overall, the place is a beautiful ensemble, set in a lovely landscape. Efforts are made to use the old houses as much as possible for tourism.

We made another stop at Potato Point, with Lesley. We met Lesley on the ship and agreed to visit her at her holiday home in Potato Point. She drove there specially for us today, showed us her house, the village, the bays, and treated us to lunch. We particularly enjoyed the kangaroos and wallabies who had just taken over the grounds of a picnic area and campsite. The house and the location are very beautiful, suitable for water sports, fishing, and relaxation.

We have just received the news that my flying friend has passed away, and we are very sad.
