A Finnish welcome

We changed our plans again – lucky for us that we’re both so flexible. When booking the ferry, we noticed a warning that due to an international dog show in Helsinki, there might be more dogs on board than usual. Not exactly a dream for someone with allergies.

So we decided to leave dog-filled Helsinki for now and head straight into nature instead. A decision that proved to be absolutely right.

South of Tampere, we discovered a little paradise – and best of all, we had the campsite all to ourselves. With a smoke sauna, a fire hut, and a pond for swimming. It was wonderfully quiet, and we would have liked to stay much longer.

Nevertheless, the next morning, we decided to continue on to Rauma. The old town, a medieval wooden house settlement and UNESCO World Heritage Site, is definitely worth a day trip. We found a somewhat touristy, but very nice campsite and spent the day in this small, charming town.
