Today we have 4 hours of classes in the morning and then receive our certificates. Norbert and I will be honored with a trophy for our culturally connecting activities between China and Germany for Taiji and Qigong. This is, of course, a great honor for us.
We are invited to dinner in the evening, privately at a friend’s place of Norbert. We can expect another surprise: About 30 people are there, all from the Taiji community. They have cooked a lot for us, preparing all day long. We eat together, talk a lot, and are glad to have a translator with us. This hospitality is really overwhelming.
Full and tired, we return to the hotel and prepare for our last day in Tianshui.
Saturday
Today marks the last day in Tianshui.
The Fuxi Festival is taking place with great performances and many people.
I don't want to miss this event and decide to go up to the Jade Temple. The weather is beautiful, and it is peaceful at the top of the temple—few people and a gentle breeze. I can hear a bit of the festival from up there: drums and music.
I enjoy almost an hour under a beautiful tree in the shade at this wonderful place.
Afterwards, we head back to the hotel, where we discuss the plans for the evening over lunch.
After a short lunch break, I decide to buy a small suitcase just in case, so I can take home all the gifts. And I'm not the only one— the saleswoman is very happy about the visit and the purchases made by the Germans. In total, she sold 6 suitcases—long live German-Chinese exchange!
In the evening, we prepare for the farewell gathering, which we invite our Chinese friends to. It will be a karaoke night! Here in China, karaoke is part of the celebrations. And once again, it was surprising. It was a lot of fun. We danced and sang. After a big farewell filled with heartfelt words, we go to sleep tired and satisfied.
