Chinese High-Speed Train 🚄/Hua Shan ⛰️/Food 🌶️🥢
Accompanied by a strong thunderstorm and rain, we want to take the high-speed train to Hua Shan. We start in Tianshui at around 22 degrees. The bus picks us up and takes us to...

We start from the hotel with our bus to an entrance building for the Hua point entrance security control transport, the usual program, and then with an extra bus to the cable car up. Wolfgang, Helena, and I will not go down the rocks but stay at the top. We'll take a relaxed round on this side before heading back down.
The shuttle bus winds its way up in a series. It’s a long drive through the villages, which are quite poor, and partly abandoned; everything looks very dry and dusty. Apparently, it hasn’t rained for a long time.
The drive takes a total of 40 minutes.
We get out, and it’s already quite warm, even though we are at a higher altitude. The cable car is accessible via many stairs.
One last photo before the ascent and the challenge of the cable car ride. I’m quite a coward when it comes to this!
I have to sit in the middle of the gondola so that I have my supporters on the right and left. The cable car ride was breathtaking. I, however, had my eyes closed 92% of the time and tried to spend the 20-minute ride in a meditative state because I am just too afraid of the depth. It went down over 1000 m in parts, and it was indescribable. At times, I felt like I was floating – it was a great feeling. Maybe someday I will overcome my fear of heights and be able to open my eyes 😀💪.
Upon arrival at the top, we first oriented ourselves and got used to the rather cool temperature just above 20°.
We accompanied the group to the first peak, the West Peak.
However, I didn’t quite reach the West Peak because the ascent path was too narrow and too crowded for me. Afterwards, Wolfgang and I separated from the group, who wanted to walk all the peaks and then take the northern cable car back down. After an hour and a half of hiking, Wolfgang and I took the gondola back down, which again was a huge challenge for me and only possible with my eyes closed and meditation.
We took the bus back to the base station, and there we treated ourselves to an iced coffee.
Now we had to wait 3 hours for the mountain hikers in 33° heat; however, a light breeze was blowing. At 5:00 PM, our exhausted mountain hikers started returning, and we drove back to our hotel in Xian and rewarded ourselves with a nice meal.
After a stroll through the bazaar, we were tired from all the impressions of the day.
The next morning, it’s time to go home. With a lovely look back at a very impressive and enriching time, but also with a lot of joy to return home.
Thank you all so much for accompanying me so kindly 🥰
