First and second day

So dear ones, Ines has now arrived in Ayacucho. She flew out on September 9, 2025, at 6:00 AM (our time) and arrived in Ayacucho on September 10, 2025, at 8:50 AM (Peruvian time -7 hours)

It was quite an adventure. Amsterdam went smoothly. In Bogota, it was a bit more difficult. I had to go through security again. There, I was also not allowed to carry any liquids. That meant 1 liter down in one go, which was in my fantastic hiking bottle that I didn't want to leave behind. The next thing was that they took my trekking poles away from me. I had them attached to my backpack outside. Apparently, that is not allowed, as I could potentially use them to hit someone. I asked what would happen to them since they weren't cheap. After much back and forth, they were finally allowed to go into the cargo hold. I would have really been happy if that had worked out.

After the flight from Bogota was delayed by 40 minutes, we had to wait again on the runway, we arrived in Lima late. Let no one say we did not leave on time, no no. We were already delayed until the traffic jam on the runway.

Well, and because I was clever and wanted to take the night bus to Ayacucho right away, being such a frugal person, I had trouble getting to the bus on time.

Anyone who often has to go to Berlin knows how well you can get around there. In Lima, it’s even worse. About an hour from the airport. I also had to wait for my luggage, which was, as mentioned, without poles :( and then make my way out.

To my surprise, Yesss, there was a super nice Uber driver who gave it his all. And because I made some progress in learning Spanish with Fernanda, we could even have a conversation :) A big thank you here to Fernanda.

We made it. Perfect timing. Jumped in and off we went. I immediately fell asleep. I must have been snoring very loudly, but at 4:30 AM I woke up from the cold and the altitude (about 5000 m) and lo and behold, there were more people like Ines :).

Finally arrived in Ayacucho at 8:50 AM, Pepe picked me up from the bus. Then it was time to find accommodation and head into the city. There wasn't much more going on with me. Whether I would do it again... no idea. There are pros and cons.
