A Sunday in Palma

Published: 02.06.2024

Having gone to bed late the night before, we slept a little longer on Sunday. We wanted to go to the Mercat de Santa Catalina and have breakfast there. But we didn't really know what day of the week it was and when we got there, we found the doors closed.

In Santa Catalina you don't have to go far and so we ended up in El Perrito, Carrer d'Anníbal.

We recommend it, the crowd is young, mostly local, not only is it good, it is also a feast for the eyes. The guests have breakfast, usually they move on again, only a few stay a little longer, family atmosphere, dogs allowed.

We then took a short walk through the old town before heading back to Gustav. Some shops are also open on Sundays, and the Palma Book Fair was taking place at Pg. del Born with a few stalls and a public reading. We stayed there for a few minutes and then continued on our way.

We haven’t forgotten the Mercat de Santa Catalina, we will visit it later.

When we arrived at Gustav the thermometer showed 24°, but you don't really notice it. Because of the wind and the shade under our roof it was really cool in the shade. I retreated to the saloon, but here too I had to close the doors enough to make the breeze bearable.

We ended the day with potato salad and pork steak and looked forward to the next day.
