Andratx to Port de Pollença

Published: 24.05.2024

Andratx, the plan was to continue from Andratx to Palma. The driving forecasts were positive on this route but the forecast for the north coast was just as positive.

No matter which direction we went, we would have had to plan a stopover first.

So we decided on the north coast with the destination Port de Pollença.

The cliffs were not in their festive guise that day, but that was not important to us. The trip went along the mighty cliffs, always with a cape in front as a guide. The mountains were covered in clouds from about 400 m up, so you could only guess at the might of the coast. Now and then the sun made an appearance and everything seemed less threatening.

Past Banyalbufar, Port des Canonge, Deià, Port de Sóller, after that it becomes lonely.

We entered the bay of Sa Calobra.

Heading northeast-east, we reached and circumnavigated Cape Formentor and the Far de Formentor. Now it was only an hour to Port de Pollença.

When we got there, we filled up with petrol, hoping that it would be easier to get a place in the harbour. Only this time we hadn't reckoned with the innkeeper.

The marinero at the gas station had a friend and he was actually the only one who could offer us a berth. Out of the harbor, turn left three times and behind the harbor, that's where you'll be greeted.

In fact, everything was fine so far, but now we were in the Royal Harbor and they were well paid for their unique position. We had an unobstructed view of the historic beach. In the evening we were rewarded with beautiful music from 200 meters away. We liked it so much that we ended up staying for a few days.

Importantly, the gas station sells diesel at an unbeatable price, €1.44/l. No other type of diesel was offered, and since the stuff was labeled B Mar Diesel, I was a little worried that our Gustav would smell like a chip shop for the next few days, but luckily that didn't turn out to be the case.
