Today we take the ferry from Flakk to Rørvik and explore the other side of the Trondheimfjord. We travel from Rørvik to Vanvikan, Leksvik to Leira where we visit the Rissa Church nearby, and then continue to Uddu back to Rørvik with the ferry to Flakk and return to our apartment.

The Church of Rissa ( Norwegian : Rissa kirke ) is a parish church of the Church of Norway located in the Municipality of Indre Fosen in the county of Trøndelag, Norway. It is situated in the village of Leira, northeast of Årnset. It is one of the churches of the Parish of Rissa, which belongs to the Deanery Fosen within the Diocese of Nidaros. The gray stone church was built in 1888 according to the designs of the architect Carl Julius Bergstrøm (1828–1898) in the long church style. The church accommodates around 650 people.

The church of the Parish of Rissa held the name Rein Church for many centuries. In 1888, the parish decided to demolish the old church and build a new one in Årnset, approximately 6 kilometers northeast of the old church. This new church was to be named Rissa Church. It was built of stone and consecrated on October 26, 1888 . It featured an entrance hall with a tower on the west side and a choir flanked by two small sacristies on the east side. Later, in 1931, a new Rein Church was built on the site of the old church.

In the evening, we are treated to an impressive Northern Lights show, simply incredibly beautiful, enjoyed right from the balcony.
