A visit to Ho Chi Minh City

On this morning, most of them went to the Floating Market in Can Tho. Since I wasn't feeling well, I visited a local market by the river. The smell was quite unusual, but it was worth seeing. The offerings there cannot be compared to our European markets.




Afternoon in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon) we arrived and first looked for a restaurant as we were very hungry.

Later, we met for dinner and went to the Sense Market. There was a huge selection of different types of food: Vietnamese, Thai, Japanese, Pizza, Sushi, Rolled Ice Cream, etc.



Afterwards, we had a fantastic view of the city from the rooftop bar of a hotel.



The next day came and a few of us went to explore the city on our own, including me. We visited the Ben Thanh Market, where you could buy all kinds of fake stuff. Interestingly, they were put in bags from Edeka, of course also fake. This time our hunger drove us to Burger King. We were getting tired of always eating rice and noodles.


The traffic was madness. Mopeds everywhere, they even rode on sidewalks and nearly ran you over. Crossing a street here was not easy.


In the evening, we chilled in the lobby of our hotel and said goodbye to the first three girls in the group before heading to the 1st overnight train. It was quite fun on the train. Eight of us squeezed into one wagon and drank beer and played cards.
