Since the Finnish students had to fly to Mexico City to vote, Katharina and I decided to tag along. 🛩️
Hello Metropolis Mexico City with over 20 million residents! 🇲🇽
Our accommodation was right in the Centro Historico, so we were right in the middle of everything. Within 5 minutes, we reached incredibly beautiful squares, churches, parks, and museums. My favorite trip, which included a long Uber ride (the traffic is truly brutal in the city!), was to the Frida Kahlo & Diego Rivera Museum! 🎨👩🏻🎨
Another highlight is the Public Tram; teleférico (line 2&3), which travels above the city's rooftops. 🚠 After that, we went to Castillo de Chapultepec and the Museo Nacional de Antropología. In between, we had a little snack in the park, which we would regret a week later - the revenge of Montezuma. 🙃
On the last day, we took public transport (a small challenge in such a large city) to the Teotihuacán del sol y de la luna, the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon. ☀️🌝🛕
In the evening, we flew back from the new airport - Aeropuerto Internacional Felipe Angeles - to Guadalajara, one of the most beautiful airports ever. Each gate is designed after a Mexican state.
