At the end of the Uyuni salt flat tour, we were dropped off at the border to Chile, where our bus to San Pedro de Atacama was already waiting. After just 1 hour, we arrived in the sweet, little desert town, where our 2 days of relaxation were supposed to start... but the first thing that happened was... the ATM ate my card...! - no chance of getting it back except waiting outside the bank for the next money truck from the big city - estimated time for this was 1 hour to 3 days. So I had to block my card and was left without one :( 🏧💳
After the shock came the next: Tsunami warning for tomorrow! - in the desert?! 🏜️🌊
Well, the tsunami didn't come after all, but it rained in the desert for the first time in a long while, which meant it was a pub day with our new friends from the hostel and card games. 🌧️🃏
The next morning, the sun greeted us again ☀️ and we spent our last shared travel day at a café with people from the hostel, playing Uno. Then it was time to say goodbye to Evelina... after 7 months... a few tears rolled down 🥹 - see you soon in Sweden! 🇸🇪
In the afternoon, I went to the airport in Calama to visit Larissa in Santiago tomorrow, who started her semester abroad here 2 weeks ago. 👩🏽🎓
And soon it was the next morning, and Larissa and I met up for sightseeing. We really made the most of the day and saw sooooo much! After one last coffee and cake, it was time for me to head to the airport… as Mexico and Sarah are waiting for me! 🇲🇽
