Today we had something a bit more sporty on the agenda. We planned the Pizol hike near Sargans and Bad Ragaz, which is actually known as the Five-Lakes hike. It sounded like an ambitious but doable plan. At least in theory.
The first problem was, as so often, the timing. We were significantly later at the top than planned, and somehow we had envisioned the whole thing being a bit simpler. At the latest on the first elevation meters, it became clear that we had overestimated ourselves a bit.
In the end, we managed to see exactly one of the five lakes. However, we truly enjoyed that one. The view up there was definitely worth the effort, even if our legs may have thought otherwise at that moment.
Before taking the gondola back down, we treated ourselves to a very late lunch.
In the end, it wasn't quite the hike we had envisioned, but one lake, a great view, and a late meal with mountain panorama is actually a really nice result.
