The Coke Zero was left behind

The last day on La Gomera was also our departure day. Since our flight was not until half past five in the afternoon, we could sleep in, enjoy a leisurely breakfast, and pack our things in a relaxed manner.

However, before heading to the airport, we had to make our way from La Gomera to Tenerife first. We had already booked the ferry, so the plan was to grab a café con leche one last time at our favorite spot, the Bar Sonia, before the crossing.

Unfortunately, the bar was closed. This seemed to be a recurring theme throughout our stay on La Gomera. Every time we found a place we loved, there was a surprising likelihood that it would be closed just when we showed up.

Shortly after, we realized that we had forgotten the Coke Zero in the fridge of our Airbnb. A small loss, from which we slowly started to emotionally recover.

So instead, we made our way to San Sebastián, found a café, and took the time to finally finish our postcards. The type of task you motivate yourself to do at the beginning of a trip and end up completing under slight time pressure on the last day.

The ferry was thankfully on time and brought us back to Tenerife in a relaxed manner. From there, we went straight to the airport.

Of course, not without grabbing something to eat first. A bocadillo with Jamón Ibérico and a croissant with ham and cheese became a very solid airport lunch before we headed to the gate.

The flight itself was a really nice conclusion. The evening light bathed the landscape beneath us in a warm golden hue, and the view from the window was almost beautifully clichéd.

Thus, our time in the Canary Islands ended just as relaxed as it had felt in the last few days. With a beautiful view, a full stomach, and a Coke Zero that is probably still waiting somewhere on La Gomera for its return... hehe...
