You now need a boat instead of e-bikes

Everything was supposed to go smoothly: My friend and I had planned a 2.5-week camper van trip through Nova Scotia, Canada. Nature, freedom, vanlife vibes... the best life indeed. A day before departure, we received the email that no one wants: we can’t get the van on arrival, but only the next day. The rental rule spoiled our plans because no vans are handed over on the same day of arrival from overseas. In short: No van, no place to sleep, no idea what to do.
Plan B: Spontaneously to a hotel instead of a pillow in the camper
We could have cried, but instead we quickly googled and booked the Alt Hotel right at Halifax airport. From the outside: quite nice. From the inside: pretty cool. And the best part? From our room we had a direct view of the runway. My friend (an airplane fan) was on cloud nine.
Right after checking in, we had two ice-cold Aperol Spritz... so, the best life after all 😁 The only downside: The coffee in the room was from Nespresso 🙄 But well... Canada makes up for it with Tim Hortons!
Oh, and before we even set off: I treated myself to a glass of Prosecco at the Bye Bye Bar in Zurich before the flight, along with my favorite pastime: people watching. Better than Netflix, honestly.
