Cinque Terre and La Spezia

Our first stop is La Spezia, so we took the train to Cinque Terre. We were there last year and I said that next year we would do it by boat, who would have thought it would work out this way.

After a short walk to the train station, the men booked the tickets for the train to Vernazza. A small place, with many colorful houses and a little fortress tower. The kids were hungry, so we got focaccia to go. Off to the next place, Riomaggiore. The first Cinque Terre.

The trains were packed, but on the return trip it was manageable.

In Riomaggiore, we walked up to the fortress and enjoyed the peace up there. On the way back, we had an obligatory Italian ice cream.

The way back in La Spezia went right through the city past a market. There were many people around. On the ship, we first had a relaxed meal and then we could enjoy the sun on the deck before heading out to dinner at the Greek restaurant.

In the evening, there was a white party on the pool deck, but we didn't stay long and preferred to settle down again on Deck 17 at Bar 17.
