Cycling in Mallorca

Today we are spending an overnight stay in Palma and have booked a cycling tour. After breakfast, we went to the Atlantic Bar to the meeting point. We were already sitting there alone and thought that we would only be riding with the guide. Leonie, our guide for today, gave us a little introduction, and then we set off towards Palma Nova, a beautiful little town with a long sandy beach. It was simply delightful. By the way, we rode regular bikes, not e-bikes, and the tour was planned for about 4 hours. Since there were just three of us, we arrived quickly in Palma Nova and could enjoy the beach and the sea and the sun. Andi even went swimming in the sea; it was wonderfully warm, and we had plenty of time, so we could enjoy a coffee in a bistro. In the meantime, dark clouds had already gathered over the island, but according to the weather app, nothing was supposed to come. Well, whoever believes that. We had only been on our way for a few minutes when we were caught in a downpour. Thank goodness a parking lot with roofs came along, and we took shelter there for a few minutes, but that was not supposed to be the worst of it, even though we thought so. Off we went again, with a little less rain, about 2-3 kilometers before we took cover under some pines. Now we really thought we could make it the remaining half hour to Palma. Not at all. What had already dried off became even wetter because just before Palma it got really intense again, and water was even flowing through our shoes. We arrived at the terminal soaking wet and all went for a warm shower on the ship. Oh, and at the ship or the harbor, it was dry again, and the sun came out. Water was pouring out of our shoes. We were drenched, and the rain wanted to continue. After a late lunch or coffee break, we were able to enjoy the afternoon on deck. We also indulged in one last ice cream on board. Tonight we are going to the Osteria for dinner. Marvin is still eating with his buddy, and then it’s our turn to pack our bags; we will be picked up at one o'clock tomorrow. Our flight to Munich is at 3:30 PM. Hopefully without any delays or other issues. This way, we might be home by 10:00 PM.
