Spain has us again, we have been near Tarifa for a few days now. Punta Paloma sounds nice too, but now I would like to write something about the small town that is a true surfer's paradise.
We were in the Mercado and in the city center a few days ago, but on the way there there were shops with surfing supplies everywhere, you can have your sail remade, your board repaired, buy new suits, etc., there is something for everyone . In addition to the "surfers on the board", there are also kitesurfers and windsurfers here, because Tarifa is known for its good wind. Today it was the Levante, no sweater necessary because it was immediately warm, the wind is not for beginners, I think. My windsurfing days are long gone, but that doesn't mean my fingers aren't itching...
We were in Imsouane in Morocco, the atmosphere here is similar, I just miss the relaxed nature of the vanlifers. Of course, they exist here too, they stand where there is always a sign that says camping is forbidden or there is a no-parking policy, but apparently that's not viewed as closely here. Here too there is the Guardia Civil who scare some campers away, but it's probably not that serious, it's only mid-March, I think it's different in midsummer.
Spain has had a strange winter, there have been mild temperatures and only 10 days ago it really rained, where rain is mainly expected in November and December. We can see that here in the puddles, nothing else is left except a sea of flowers. In December everything was rather brown and inconspicuous, now flowers and herbs in the most beautiful colors are blooming on every corner, the trees are getting leaves, and most of the almond trees have already blossomed. Of course these are almost the same plants as in Morocco, the landmass is apparently the same, but it's still great when it's spring here!
We also did an archaeological tour in Balea Claudia, Bolonia, a Roman city that lived on tuna. It was interesting!
Add to that the mountains in the background, the long beach and a different kind of lightness that characterizes surfing towns. We were eating, there was menu de dia and we also got some great bread. It's European again in terms of prices, where we were used to something different for almost 3 months. That's not to detract from the great experience, it's just a little more expensive, but that's part of it.
We are now waiting for the brake drum, yesterday we quickly went to see Rosi in Ventorros, that was a quick 500km trip, but it was a warm reunion!
