Tag 1 – Arrival with small 'highlights'
The vacation started right with a little adventure: a complete closure on the highway towards the airport. Of course, exactly on our travel day. While the GPS slowly lost its patience, we subtly grew anxious about missing the flight. Adrenaline levels were already reached before the first coffee on vacation.
Somehow we managed to make it and finally landed in the hotel in the middle of the night – to be exact, at half-past 3 in the morning. At a time when normal people are sleeping, and only travelers with dark circles under their eyes are checking in.
The next morning, the chaos continued stylishly: The eSIM just didn’t want to work. Why make it easy when it can be complicated? At the same time, we realized that our toothbrush and toothpaste happily stayed at home. So we first went shopping so we could feel like humans again. And since forgetfulness rarely comes alone, a new belt had to be bought as well.
Just when we thought we had overcome everything, my glasses decided to take a vacation too – only they broke. At least: Turkey seems to be the land of opticians. There’s even one in the hotel! The new or repaired glasses will be ready tomorrow. Until then, I’m sitting here with sunglasses, looking like I’m either investigating undercover or about to shoot a very bad action film.
Conclusion of the first day: We have arrived, we’re still alive, and we’ve already experienced more than some do in a whole week of vacation. Tomorrow can only be more relaxing. Hopefully.
