The first night on the ship was quite okay. Although the night was a bit restless and loud due to the relocation of the “Cachalote” around the island to the west side at Punta Moreno. On such a relatively small ship, you can hear the engine and feel the waves. Thankfully, the sea was calm.
In the morning, wake-up call at 06:30, breakfast at 07:00. If you come too late, you miss out. And this is the case every day until the return flight🥴😭😳. It reminds me a bit of my time in the military 😂
Well, it went quite well.
Around 08:30, we set off on the two 'Pangas' - the ship's two inflatable boats - to the coast. The numerous lava rocks, cuts, and passages were very impressive. But also quite dangerous: Sharp rocks lurk underwater, and the cliffs are jagged and sharp-edged.
I can hardly name all the animals I saw: in the air frigatebirds, pelicans, terns, ... In the water turtles, penguins, sea iguanas, seals, numerous species of fish, ... On land: the terrestrial animals found here are mostly also found in the water.
