Bad day, home cooking, afternoon hike...

Today, the weather invites us to visit a swimming pool and we make our way along Route 1 through the fog and low-hanging clouds to Djupivogur; there, at the entrance to the town, we pass the 'new church' and leisurely continue past the old wooden church down to the harbor, to then head back up to the community center, which includes a larger school, a nice kindergarten, and the swimming pool with an adjacent gym of Djupivogur.

We enter the foyer and make our way through the shoes of the students who are currently in gym class. We swap our shoes for the flip-flops we brought, validate our ticket, and as expected by Icelandic bathing culture, we take a shower before swimming :-)

The swimming pool is straightforward and offers, besides a swimming pool with starting blocks, 3 warm-water pools at 33°, 38°, and 42°, and on the other side of the swimming pool, a tempting cold-water pool, which currently shows 5° C on the thermometer.

We decide to swim a few laps before enjoying the warm pools. The small green pressure switches activate the massage jets, and we sit in 38° warm water letting the water jet massage our backs, arms, and legs - what a life ...

I opt for a refreshing dip and try the cold-water pool, it feels really good, and then I head to the 42° warm pool, and I'm not sure, does it feel warm or cold? :-)

We spend about another hour completely alone in the pool, and just as we are about to leave, a young couple enters the swimming pool.

We exchange a few words with the friendly girl at the counter after she has checked in a small group of young Icelanders in socks.

We will come back, guaranteed ...

Now, first to the little supermarket to stock up on milk, tomatoes, bread, chicken, and 1-2 beers, and then directly for coffee in the sun in front of our cabin. We spend the rest of the day wandering around and in the sand, we let the drone rise up the waterfall to satisfy our curiosity about what lies ahead up there.

At about 100m height, I guide the drone along the course of the meltwater stream over the edge of the fall, so that not only does the drone disappear from view, but after a short time, so does the radio connection - pulse min 130. Stay calm, look for a better position, and wait until the transmitter and receiver reconnect - phew, that was close and somehow exciting.

In the late afternoon, we enjoy chicken with risoni & tuna, and we end the evening with a walk.
