Mangroves on Martinique and sunset on Guadeloupe

Today, we have some news from the Caribbean again. Yesterday and today the air is stagnant here, it's hot and humid, sometimes over 30 degrees and not under 25 degrees at night. It's tough for me at the moment, we appreciate every little breeze. We were in the mangroves on Martinique yesterday. A great kayak excursion; the first picture shows the trustworthy rental station of Kayak Adventure Mangrove in Ducos. The lady was exceptionally nice and friendly, and we can definitely recommend this trip. We paddled along and also into the mangroves for about two hours. Everywhere there were little crabs and other creatures. That was quite exhausting in the heat at 30 degrees.

After that, it was time to pack our suitcases again. We always have to plan anew since the baggage limits, for example on the ferry, are different from those for propeller flights or international routes.

This morning we returned the car. During the pick-up, we witnessed quite a bit of dispute between another couple and the unpleasant rental company. I photographed everything around the car during the pick-up and uploaded the photos to my smartbook. The extremely unfriendly lady at the return looked at some scratches on the car and wanted to see photos. However, when she saw my large photos, which can be zoomed in nicely, she fell silent. I've never experienced such rudeness in maybe 30 car rentals over the past few years. And Simone quickly cleaned the car inside and out. Unfortunately, there was no dubious extortion at this company today. I canceled the reservation for Guadeloupe with the same provider yesterday and rented from AVIS at the same price. So far, we are very satisfied with the car and the handover.
