Arrival in Barbados with Obstacles
Our arrival in Barbados was a bit bumpy. But really just because of the DB; everything else went smoothly. You book a train connection from our place via Würzburg to Frankfurt,...

Our first real day here in Barbados. We visited Dover Beach and Worthing Beach, just 2 km away from our accommodation in Christchurch. It is truly paradise, exactly as one imagines it. Turquoise water, palm trees, and fine sand. However, we had strong waves today, so swimming was not an option. We are also not yet used to the heat of 30 degrees, so we were sweaty and exhausted when we returned to our accommodation, and we fell asleep right away. We had rotis with lamb, a specialty from Trinidad. Well, it's a flatbread wrapped around lamb stew. Eating it without plates and cutlery was harder than eating a big burger, but the taste was very good. In the next few days, we will try cooking some yam; let's see how that tastes. The food here is relatively expensive; the local Banks beer costs about €1.50 for a 275 ml bottle in the supermarket, which is around 3 Barbados dollars. Tonight, we might go to a pub where a reggae band plays live. Let's see how long we can last; we are already tired again. Then we will make a plan for tomorrow.
