Cacheuta Hot Springs

Yesterday we visited the Termas de Cacheuta, located in the mountains of Mendoza, right on the border between Chile and Argentina in the Andes. The water temperatures in the various Termas baths vary between 35 and 39 degrees. The water is also said to have healing properties. I notice it too... AMAZING ;-)!

Before we went to the termas, we made sandwiches for breakfast. Daniela had packed them well and brought them to our room in advance. We wanted to say goodbye to Ursula and take a few selfies with her between the vines. After saying goodbye, Daniela went back into the room and asked loudly "Anke, have you been in our room yet? Come quickly...!" When I came into the room, the sandwiches were nibbled and half the bed was full of crumbs. I had to laugh at Daniela's question, "Anke, were you in the room"? Like I'm nibbling the sandwiches...*laughs*! The culprit was quickly found. We left our windows slightly tilted and the cat hopped into our room and helped itself. We then got the mother and baby something for breakfast. When everyone was full :-) we took an Uber to the termas.

I found the trip very nice, especially since you had a great view of the Andes and they were getting closer and closer. When we arrived at the springs, we got a day ticket and first got a rough overview of the facility. We both found the structure of the termas very impressive. The individual bathrooms, pools and basins were structured in a staircase. Since it was incredibly hot, we quickly jumped into the whirlpool roundabout. Here you were swept further and further by an undertow. The view was fantastic. You lay on your back and looked at the mountain landscape. When the water in the pool got too cold for us, we jumped into a pool that was around 39 degrees. That was so pleasant. We looked at each other and said we're going to stay here all day :-)!

Since the cats had eaten our food, we now had to eat something slowly. Outside the termas, there were dozens of restaurants vying for termas guests. You could leave and re-enter the termas with a wristband. After a delicious lunch, we returned to the facility and let the whirlpool take us along for a few laps. Then we went back to the warmer springs for the rest of the time. Time passed far too quickly.

On the way home we stopped at a supermarket. There I shopped for the cats and got mate. Hopefully I can launch Mate in Chile today.

I fed the cats again earlier. They were so happy about the food. I'm a little sad that I won't see them anymore.

Now we are sitting at the airport in Mendoza. Here I had to empty my entire backpack during baggage check and I was asked if I like mate :-)? "NO IDEA"! "IT SHOULD BE HEALTHY :-)". The plane leaves for Chile in about 40 minutes. A rental car is waiting for us. Today we are going to Valparaiso and Vina del Mar.
