To Helsinki!

It’s that time again; Fox, Hare, and Hazel Mouse are once more buzzing with excitement and embarking on an adventure tour!

This time, our destination is the high north in deep winter. Helsinki, the Finnish capital, the northern guardian of the Baltic Sea access to Russian St. Petersburg, and home to reindeer, hockey, licorice, and a whole lot of coffee.

As always, when our travel group sets off for new discoveries, it cannot happen without obligatory planning, weighing options, and comparing possible destinations!

So why Finland? And why in February? And how is this even possible when Ida should be in school? Are we perhaps slowly but surely creating school refusers and system deniers who rebel against school attendance and let their offspring jet across the world at the expense of education?!
