Not much was on the agenda - and that was a good thing.
On the first day, we rode scooters to Koh Lanta Old Town, strolled a bit along the shopping street, and managed to buy a shirt and a sarong for Heide.
We spent a longer time at Grandma’s Café, enjoying wonderful bagels and fresh mango crumbles topped with homemade ice cream (vanilla and coconut).
On the way back, we saw a few familiar corners and could clearly see how Koh Lanta has developed in the last 6 years. Many houses and shops have been added, but environmental awareness has also positively evolved.
After a quiet afternoon, we had planned to go to a stand-up comedian that evening, but ended up spontaneously choosing the night market instead, specifically the food corner.
Monday started off similarly relaxed: waking up, having coffee, and thinking about what to do. Ultimately, we went to a cafe run by a North German expatriate for breakfast; Egg had a (certainly very good) pretzel and a chocolate croissant. Heide had rice with cashews and vegetables.
The afternoon showed a similar scene as the day before - doing nothing, interrupted by a good Thai massage. After a completely romantic sunset at the beach, we continued our culinary journey that day to Ireland - to the Irish Embassy, a pub. The food was very good, although we didn't do so well in the pub quiz, we still had fun.
Thus, our time on Koh Lanta comes to an end, and we move on to the next island, where it will be even quieter.
