Well, there's not much to report. From Sukhothai, we took a taxi to Phitsanulok Airport. There, we boarded a flight to Bangkok.
Egg mainly used the stay in Bangkok to visit the Royal Thai Air Force Museum. He was impressed, and there was food available too. Spicy. 😂
In the evening, we took the night train from Bangkok to Trang. It was relatively unremarkable. The night in a first-class sleeper compartment with a bunk bed was okay, and with the steady clattering, we could sleep well. Surprisingly, beer was even offered to us for dinner. Egg thought this was not allowed. But we graciously declined, as Egg had previously stopped at a 7-Eleven outside the station and bought beer. 😜
In Trang, we had to wait a bit for the minibus to Koh Lanta (3 hours + 1 hour delay). But the time passed well here too. After a roughly 3-hour bus ride, including almost an hour of waiting before the ferry, we arrived at our accommodation in Koh Lanta. A quick dip in the pool, a relaxed dinner, and off to bed.
The next day was relaxed. We went for a walk, indulged in sesame balls filled with coconut and soybeans, and enjoyed pineapple, watermelon, and bananas at the beach.
The afternoon was very quiet, one at the pool and the other taking a nap. For dinner, we splurged a bit more than just street food. For around €30, we had calamari rings, a whole steamed fish in chili-lime-garlic broth, grilled vegetables, a beer, a passion fruit juice, and a mango mojito. Can't complain about that.
Tomorrow, we're continuing; we want to explore Old Town Koh Lanta on two scooters.
