Old Love...Edinburgh

Hey there,

this morning we returned to the mainland.

The ferry departed at 07:00 AM and we docked back in Ullapool around 09:40 AM. During the crossing, we actually saw dolphins.... so amazing. Unfortunately, the pictures aren't very good, as those little stinkers are quite fast :o)))

Then we traveled from Ullapool to Edinburgh. On the way, we came across some really interesting vintage cars. Apparently, there was a gathering in the area... or perhaps even a vintage car race.

After about 4 hours of driving, we settled into our hotel room. Over a coffee, we debated whether to brave it and drive into Edinburgh's Old Town, or to take an Uber instead. Then I remembered that upon our arrival, I had seen a bus stop in front of the hotel, and we spoke with the very nice gentleman at the reception about how public transport works here. His answer: no problem, Bus Line 25 goes to Edinburgh Center... so just get on here and get off in the Old Town. And that's what we did; we dared to take public transport for the first time here in Scotland. It's a great thing... we'll do it again first thing tomorrow morning. It's much more relaxed for Mr. Fü as well, and the journey only takes 25-30 minutes.... honestly, you can't get there faster by car either.

Now it's time for a Guinness for some necessary bedtime heaviness, and then off to bed.... after all, Edinburgh is waiting for us tomorrow! :o)))
