Hey folks
After a hearty breakfast, we set off for Edinburgh, taking the bus :o), under bright sunshine and a blue sky.
I love this city...
First, we explored the waiting hall of the main train station, Waverly Station. Soooooo beautiful. Then we headed to the old university of Edinburgh, a truly impressive building. We walked up the hill to Edinburgh Castle and enjoyed the panoramic view of the city. After a caramel latte, we walked down Victoria Street to Grassmarket. Victoria Street is truly worth seeing with its colorful facades, and the small shops it hosts are very interesting, both from the outside and inside. The Harry Potter Museum is also located there. At the end of the street, you reach Grassmarket, which is really worth seeing with its many pubs and restaurants... there is also 'The White Hart Inn', one of Edinburgh's oldest pubs, and 'The Last Drop', which has a hangman's noose in its logo.. the lamps in the pub are mostly hangman's nooses :o).
At lunchtime, we went to the National Gallery, where we had a very tasty 'open sandwich' on the terrace... overlooking the Victoria Street Garden and enjoying music from street buskers as background music. Afterwards, we simply walked a few meters further into Victoria Street Garden and enjoyed the sun....and the music :o)
Until the afternoon, we strolled around Edinburgh. And in the evening, we went to Carlton Hill to enjoy the sunset.
Then it was back on the bus towards the hotel, where we are now recovering from all the ups and downs, stairs up and down :o)))
We wish you a relaxing evening. See you tomorrow.
