'I'm packing my suitcase..'
Only two suitcases of 23kg for five people? Reactions like 'What, that's impossible!' to 'I could never manage that!' were not uncommon 😉 But: these people don't know my past....

Yay, the 'monthly mark' has been crossed. In just over 3 weeks, it begins! Planning-wise, we have been 'ready' for quite some time now - much to our chagrin. I don't think Reto and I have ever been forced to plan a trip this early and this precisely. Usually, we're more like 'let's just go and see what happens.' One of us did not find that very enjoyable. But maybe it will help when we get there ;-)
(Or maybe not - because maybe Trump won't even let us in after everything we've been reading lately - but we'll see about that ;-))
So, what exactly do we have planned for these 5.5 weeks? Here is our (approximate) route planning for the USA trip (Sorry, the map isn't beautiful, but I was too lazy to redraw everything ;-))
We start on April 17th in Los Angeles, where we will first have a rental car for about a week to explore LA, San Diego, etc. Afterwards, we'll pick up our (gigantic) camper and head towards Palm Springs, Joshua Tree National Park, Route 66, Grand Canyon, Bryce, Zion, etc. Then, of course, 4 days in Las Vegas (I have wonderful childhood memories there ;-)), through Death Valley, Sequoia to San Francisco. From there, our planning is actually still quite 'open,' we'll just drive down the coast again (certainly making stops in Morro, Santa Cruz, and Santa Barbara), where we will return our camper in LA on May 27th and have to fly home. In case of emergency, we'll just spend the night in a Walmart parking lot if everything is truly as 'full' as everyone is saying... ;-)
We are definitely excited and (now again) full of anticipation (after the whole planning marathon). Before that comes the packing marathon, there will surely be a post about that as well, haha ;-)
