Everything has an end...

..except for sausages, which have two 😉 Unfortunately, these 5.5 weeks really flew by. To finish off, we treated ourselves to a particularly lovely camping experience in Malibu, complete with sea views 🤩 We even spotted dolphins while having breakfast - what more could one want! And then it was time to say goodbye to our camper, our faithful companion over the last few weeks 😢 There was definitely a bit of sadness, but also a bit of anticipation for our own bed and home-cooked meals 😉

As promised, here are the highlights and lowlights of the entire travel group 😉 (When it came to highlights, everyone found it extremely hard to limit themselves to three things, but otherwise the list would have been endless 🙈)

Highlights

Robin:

Finn:

• Riding Amtrak

Lenny:

• Legoland
• 'Gaming' (in the arcades 😉)
• The campsite in Ventura

Reto:

• Sequoia (by a long shot!)
• Ice Hockey in Las Vegas with Finn & Robin
• Driving with Waymo

Nina:

• Sequoia
• Las Vegas (this city is just truly unique 🤩)
• Morro Bay

Lowlights

Robin:

• Hiking
• Las Vegas (way too loud 😉)
• The food (everything was 'gross' 🫣)

Finn:

• Hiking
• The fact that in many places there were only single pizza slices available (far too few 😂)
• Doing homework 😆

Lenny:

• Hiking (naturally 😉)
• Whale Watching (so boring)
• Going to bed 😂

Reto & Nina:

• Actually nothing at all!
• City/place least enjoyed: Los Angeles (a 'monster', way too big, no real 'center')
• ..and yes, the food.. 🙈

Final conclusion: What a wonderful trip, we will tell stories about it and rave about it often 😍 We can warmly recommend it to everyone. However, it is definitely not: cheap. The USA has unfortunately (like everything else) become extremely expensive. If you want to do a few activities, you have to pack the big wallet. But: For us, every franc was worth it 🤩
