On Friday, I discovered the new method of facade installations. Interestingly, there is new material that didn't exist in my time. The EPS blocks with inlet box size 1 or lamp dowels are glued to the wall, drilled through, and the pipes are inserted before the outer walls are insulated with 22 cm insulation. I won't delve into the sense and nonsense of 'styrofoam insulation' here. The electrical installation material impressed me, less so the Hilti drill and cordless screwdriver. I'd rather stick with Bosch professional tools. Maybe it’s also about the maintenance of the machines. That's probably one of the most important things I've learned in the last 3 weeks. The apprentices and young installers often lack essential knowledge; for instance, they work with too large a battery, don't set the torque, or use a drill chuck that is dust-dry and not lubricated. The apprentice in his 3rd year, with whom I worked together all day, remarked after a small socket installation that we were probably in an extreme flow 😂. And I felt like I had to work all day with the handbrake on. This realization is also very interesting and valuable for me. In my practical work, I gained many exciting insights into how work will be done in 2024.
Many thanks to Ellenbroek Hugentobler Frauenfeld, who gave me this opportunity; it was an intense and exciting time for me. Thank you to Benni, Kim, Fabian, Jens, Emanuel; it was truly fun working with you.
