Excursions to Girona, Pals, and Begur

From L'Estartit, we took a few trips to nearby Catalan towns.

Girona is a small town with an extensive medieval core, offering plenty to see. The Gothic cathedral is particularly worth visiting, including a famous book from the 10th century and the 'Creation Tapestry' from the 11th century. Behind the cathedral, there are some walking paths through ruins, which have a lot of atmosphere. Not to forget the fantastic path along the city wall, sometimes at dizzying heights. In the old town, you can also find a wealth of high-class restaurants, cafés, and bars.

Pals is a town with a very well-preserved medieval core, beautifully polished with the corresponding souvenir shops.

Begur is a small town with a tiny old town, also well-kept. From a hilltop fortress (almost nothing remains of the castle itself), there is a lovely view of the surroundings and into the bay, where L'Estartit is also located.
