The Tolerant Castle Akhaltsikhe Fortress
From Wardsia, we now head to the Goderzi Pass. Stopover: Akhaltsikhe (Cheers!) Here we are particularly interested in the castle, so we park Gregor at the bus station, get some...

Upon waking up at Goderzipass, we realize: It's just like it is in Austria in the mountains! We even found some really good wild strawberries, and there were plenty of parasols too!
We want to hike to the green lake, but for about 2 years now, there's been an asphalted path that goes directly there. So back in the Gregor, and we're already there. We walk around the lake and decide to hike up to a peak instead. As always, there are no hiking trails or signs, we just cheerfully follow the animal tracks until we reach the summit (2400m high).
We couldn't even look quickly enough before a thunderstorm hit. We hit the road, and just as we reach the car, it starts pouring rain.
In Georgia, the roads are already an adventure, but when it rains and even hails, it's really hard to gauge whether that water-filled pothole is 10cm or half a meter deep!
Consequently, we arrive late at our 6th accommodation, “House on the Hill,” and here we treat ourselves to a complete day off after all that action. Fittingly, it rains all day anyway, which means we skip the hike to the waterfall.
