Goodbye to the Mountains

On our last day in Mestia, we want to take it easy - we have gradually settled in here...

Therefore, we decide to take the Hatsvali Cable Car directly from Mestia up to Mount Zuruli and then hike along the ridge to Mount Gora Meptash (2242 m), which takes 2 hours round trip.

We enjoy the view of the surrounding peaks, some of which are over 3000 and 4000 meters. Even though the high mountains are shrouded in clouds again that day, the views are still impressive for relatively little effort. We take our time, search for and find a geocache, have a peak beer, and then stroll back to the gondola. There is a really nice cafe with a large terrace, so we also take a moment to sit down and enjoy the sunshine before heading back down to the valley.

We spend one more night in our beautiful A-frame house, then we drop Gregor off at the airport parking lot and off we go on the Vanila Sky airplane to our final destination of the trip - Tbilisi.
