The hike to Chalaadi Glacier

A 30-minute bumpy drive from Mestia and the hike to Chalaadi Glacier begins with an adventurous, not to say life-threatening bridge.

Here, it feels more touristy, and we occasionally come across other hikers. Otherwise, we follow the rushing mountain stream filled with glacier water, enjoying the beautiful birch forests, until we reach the tree line and make our way over rocks and gravel directly to the glacier. It's a special feeling, and we let the wild nature surround us before turning back and being rewarded at the end of the hike with a cafe right by the river.
