Today we completed the last leg of our journey from Nottwil through France, Spain, and the Algarve back to Portugal and home.
From Geneva to Nottwil, we covered the last 260 kilometers in just over 2.5 hours – in changeable weather: gray, wet, cold, just above 0 degrees, but with clear roads.
In total, during our 72 days on the road, we drove an impressive 8,096 kilometers. We traveled through four countries and enjoyed mostly good weather – it only rained continuously for two days. Aside from a flat tire and a small scratch on the car, the trip went smoothly. We stayed healthy, saw and experienced a lot, and are more than happy with the overall course of our journey.
Now we are back home. We carried the many bags into the house, unpacked the suitcases, and sorted the mountain of laundry. The washing machine is already running at full steam. The large pile of mail can wait.
This is now the last entry in our travel blog, the 73rd overall. Writing has brought me immense joy, and I have learned a lot about the places we visited, the sights, cities, countries, customs, and cultures. Hampi has proofread and corrected every blog entry with great care. Together, we captured the journey with many photos and documentation. Your numerous positive feedbacks motivated us to write something every day – for which we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
Now we close this chapter of our journey with a touch of melancholy, but above all with satisfaction. Although there is no sunset this evening, we have a nice white wine with which we will toast to the past weeks. The memories of this journey will accompany us for a long time – and perhaps inspire us for a new adventure.
Thank you for accompanying us on this wonderful journey!
